Data We Access and Collect

To provide the core features of Car play - Android Auto Sync, our app accesses and/or collects the following types of data. This data is used solely to operate the app's features on your device and is not sold or shared with third parties except as described below.

Location Data — Detailed Disclosure

Our app accesses and collects precise location (GPS) and approximate location (network-based), including background location, for the following specific purposes:

• Bluetooth device scanning — Android requires location permission to discover nearby Bluetooth and Wi-Fi devices when connecting your phone to your car's infotainment system.
• GPS trip data display — Your current location is used to show real-time speed, heading, and route information on the in-car display while you are driving.
• Background location — Location is accessed in the background while the app runs as a foreground service so that navigation and trip data remain accurate when your screen is off or you switch to another app. The foreground service notification is always visible while this is active.

Personal Information

We do not collect, store, or share personal information such as your name, email address, phone number, or payment details. You can use the core features of the app without providing any personal information.

Non-Personal & Diagnostic Information

We may collect non-personal, aggregated diagnostic information such as app crash reports and device type through third-party services (e.g., Google Firebase Crashlytics). This information cannot be used to identify you personally and is used only to improve app stability and performance.

Advertisements

We use Google AdMob to serve advertisements within the app. AdMob may collect certain device identifiers and usage data to serve relevant ads. We do not control or have access to the data collected by AdMob.

App Permissions — Full List

This app requests the following Android permissions. Each permission is used only for the purpose stated:

• ACCESS_FINE_LOCATION — Precise GPS location for in-car navigation display and Bluetooth device discovery.
• ACCESS_COARSE_LOCATION — Approximate network-based location as a fallback for Bluetooth scanning.
• ACCESS_BACKGROUND_LOCATION — Allows location access while the foreground service is running (e.g., screen off during navigation). A persistent notification is always shown.
• BLUETOOTH / BLUETOOTH_CONNECT / BLUETOOTH_SCAN — Discover and connect to your vehicle's Bluetooth system for hands-free audio and car control.
• INTERNET / ACCESS_NETWORK_STATE / ACCESS_WIFI_STATE / CHANGE_WIFI_STATE — Required for wireless connectivity, loading ads, and crash reporting.
• NEARBY_WIFI_DEVICES / ACCESS_WIFI_P2P_STATE / CHANGE_WIFI_P2P_STATE — Wi-Fi Direct / Miracast connection to car screen for wireless mirroring.
• READ_MEDIA_AUDIO / READ_EXTERNAL_STORAGE — Access local audio files on your device for in-car music playback.
• FOREGROUND_SERVICE / FOREGROUND_SERVICE_LOCATION / FOREGROUND_SERVICE_MEDIA_PROJECTION — Keep the car connection active while the app runs in the foreground. A visible notification is always shown.
• MEDIA_PROJECTION (Screen Cast) — Mirror your phone screen to your car's display. This requires your explicit runtime approval each session.
• POST_NOTIFICATIONS — Show the persistent foreground service notification (required on Android 13+).
• RECEIVE_BOOT_COMPLETED — Optionally restart the connection service after device reboot if enabled in settings.
• WAKE_LOCK — Keep the screen on in HUD / display mode while actively connected to your car.

Data Sharing and Disclosure

We do not sell, trade, rent, or otherwise disclose your personal or location data to any third party. The only data that leaves your device is:

• Advertising data — managed entirely by Google AdMob under Google's privacy policy.
• Crash/diagnostic reports — anonymized, non-personal data used solely to improve app stability.

Security

We take reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect the data processed by this app. All sensitive operations (location access, screen casting, Bluetooth) require explicit user permission at runtime. No employee of InGenious Developer has the right to share your information with any third party without your prior consent.

Children's Privacy

This app is rated for users aged 3 and above. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided personal information through this app, please contact us so we can delete it.
